I'm new to the shot gun scene (well, the gun scene in general...), just wondering if you can change the barrels on all shot guns?
and can you hunt with a shot gun with a 14" barrel.

also, do all shot guns have changeable chokes?

Although someone will probably correct me on this, I believe on most shotguns you can change the barrels. On something like a side by side there would be very little point to change the barrels. However on pumps it can be very practical.

Not all shotguns have removable chokes. I have a Winchester Model 12, Mossberg 500, Remington 812, Stevens 311, and Remington 870. Only the Remington 870 has the removable choke. I learned to shoot on a full choke and I can pretty much do whatever I want with it.

Changing barrels is more complicated on some firearms. Generally you can grab another barrel for a pump or semi and slap em on and go, doubles tend to have to be fitted. You can get O/U's and SxS's with multiple barrel sets, but you don't just order another set from the catalogue and expect to slap them on and shoot.

As mentioned many many shotguns have fixed chokes.

so if you have a 14" shot gun - pump, (Norinco say) could you change out the barrel and put a 18 or 20" on it?

what would the shorter barrels be used for?
what length is best for trap and skeet?
