Anybody have any tips on changing the extractor out? I got the new one from Bob Harvich with no problems and now I need to actually make it all work.

Looking at the new one, it appears to simply slide straight into the hole in the bolt, then snap down into a retaining hole near the front of the bolt. Based on that, I should just have to pry up the front of the broken extractor and pull it straight out, then slide in the new one. Is that correct or is it more complicated than that?

Thanks,
Mark

Slightly more complicated. Have a look at the new extractor, on the same side and slightly below the extractor hook is a little nub that fits into the bolt body. Thus when sliding the old extractor out you have to pull back gently on the extractor to release the nub from the bolt body for it to slide out.

I think we are talking about the same thing. That is why I said I have to lift up on the end of the broken extractor to pull it out of that hole, then it should pull straight forward out of the bolt. Correct?

Edit - We were talking about the same thing, got it out no problem and the new one slipped in without a fuss.

Thanks,
