Changing from AICS to McMillain A-4 stock?

I have a AICS 1.5 on my custom Remington, but the more I use McMillian stocks the more I want to change my stock to an A-4. So my first question is will I regret doing this because it will effect the accuracy of my rifle? Second, where can I get a McMillian in Canada or do I just order direct?

Any help to regain my sanity would be greatly appreciated
 
Hi TJW, You would probably need to bed the A4 to have similar accuracy to the AICS which some say doesn't not need bedding.

I have a Rem 700 in a A5 in 6.5x47 and it works pretty well. I don't have an AICS yet but I would really like to get one soon.
 
I have a number of rifles in the A5 and have also rifles in AICS. Both are excellent stocks. You will need to bed the A5 ( A4 in your case ) but once that is done you certainly won't suffer accuracy issues.
 
A4/5 are great stocks I have 0 complaints with any of mine

Thanks for the input guys. Ultimate_Monkey I sent Sean a PM to see if he can help. I would actually like to sell my AI chassis and put those funds towards the new McMillian. What are you guys running for bottom metal?

You can order a custom stock direct from McMillan, they do ship to Canada. You will wait 3-5 months to receive your order, but on the plus side, you can spec it exactly the way you want it.

I know this because last week I placed my order, and now have been told to wait 12 to 20 weeks for it to be manufactured and delivered :)

I spoke with Peter today and figured out the stock I want along with PTG bottom metal. Now just the long wait, and to sell my AICS
 
Love my A3 to death !... I'd bet my life on it , and so should you ! Hahaha just kidding I hate Jim Shockey. Don't know where that came from. Seriously your gonna love that stock. Hirsch is awesome too.
