Do I need any special tools or widgets? Deos the replacement flash hider need to be at a specific torque or anything?

no but you should put a new crush washer in....

depending how tight it is one there you might want an upper vise block so you can get some torque on it but it should come off fairly easily.

Craptastic... where does one get crush washers?

I have a KX3 just waiting for me and I'd like to get it on the rifle...

2 bucks + postage from brownells...

Wolverine among others have them

demented, for my KFH i used an adjustable wrench with a paper towel folded 6 times (prevents the wrench scratching the flash hider). i held it against the floor, putting my foot on the pistol grip to prevent the weapon from rotating.. not exactly the best way to do it, but it will work if you dont have access to a workshop with a padded vise
i used my old crush washer, then tightened it up and made sure the logos were indexed properly. i never used a torque wrench either.
you'll love your new flash hider

The KFH flash hiders were designed to not be used with any washers, otherwise you mess with the optimum cone/muzzle gap.

All KX3 flash hiders are sold by Noveske with crush washers included.
