Anybody have or try one? Are they a good, reliable unit?

Haven't had the pleasure. But, they at least appear to be a decent quality copy (unlike some).

They could be crap, but I have a hunch that's not the case. Nevertheless, even if they're as good as any original made by Winchester, they will always be a copy. Their new price will be determined by the cost of production and the demand. Their used price, I would expect to settle somewhere between a used Norinco and the real McCoy. They'll probably have the effect of slowly pushing up the prices paid for originals.

Decent originals are starting to become a bit more scarce. You can still get them, but maybe dig just a little bit deeper than before.

Lots of junky ones around.

I'd like to find a nice non-take down version one day, for a shooter.
