Charged HST Now?

Probably already asked. Did a search with no relevant results so don't crucify me if its been answered.

Is CanAm charging HST now for ontario orders? I just picked up an AR/Ammo combo and noticed the HST charge on the final invoice. My last order (admittedly a while ago) was only PST.

I did figure only paying %5 couldnt last forever... it was too good to be true. But I'm holding on to a minuscule grain of hope that I can still get away with the %5... it makes buying from CanAm so much harder to talk yourself out of.

I think it is HST province to HST province you get charged HST. Anything else is GST only.

I just bought something in Alberta and was only charged gst.

Any federal tax (GST/HST) registered company must charge the federal tax applicable (GST/HST) in the province of delivery.

Thanks for the update. Just to clarify, there was a glorious time when CanAm didn't charge HST to ontarians. We all knew it couldn't last.
Still excellent deals from CanAm and great service so my money still gets deposited there. Just takes longer to pay it back now.

Someone explain why Cabella's charges PST to ship items to B.C. "Company policy" was the answer I received. I will never order from Cabella's again. Sorry, but the question was answered for the OP so time to rant.

I knew it wouldn't last, but what I don't understand is why it was possible for CanAm to do it before? What changed?
