So I finally get around to trying to use the the Chargemaster Combo I bought myself for Christmas.....and of course new out of the box...it does not work:mad:. The display comes up "2009" and that is it ... none of the keys work. Any ideas? f**king made in China crap!

Phone RCBS. They will tell you to send it back with a note describing the problem and they will send you a new unit.

I sent them an e-mail today and got that exact reply. Still extremely upsetting as it was brand new out of the box. Now I have to send it to California and wait for one to come back. So much for quality control....
I bought a set of Garmin Rhino's last year, same thing ... one of them did not work right out of the box!

Sorry about your luck bud. Stuff like this has hapened to the best of us.

I know these things are just the cat's meow when they're working, but I keep reading about the various problems with them. I've read just enough to make sure I just manually weigh my precision loads and use my manual powder dispenser for pistol and "no so" precision loads. Fewer parts to break and they don't have programming to lose.

Rest assured, RCBS will have you a new one. They've got to file export permits on bloody everything now, so it'll take a little while but they will get it to you.

I got a piece for my press under warranty a couple of months ago. It can take up to 6 weeks now just to get the export papers in order for them to ship the part according to an email I got from them. It took 4 weeks to get it for the toggle block on my Rockchucker. From the time they got the export paperwork and shipped, it took 12 days to get from them to me including weekends.

Yikes..that is not what I wanted to hear! At least the Garmin was done by a warranty depot in Montreal.

Take it apart and mess with the plugs. Check to see if they are plugged into the circuit boards or wiggle them a little bit. Worst case is you buy another one and return the bad one saying the old lady was pissed!
