just installed a charging handle I received form another member of the forums, racked it probably 10 times and suddenly the handle was stuck and wouldnt come out, nor would it let the BCG out. Eventually I got them free and this is what the handle looked like

its extremely sharp, would anyone be able to tell me what it got caught on and why?

I am new to the AR game

It looks like the charging handle lifted over the gas key

Does the front of gas key look like it has any damage on it?

Did you release the bolt with the charging handle all the way back?
It might have dropped down out of the groove. And the BCG picked it up when you released it and jammed it forward. Pinching them together.

Anyway.... just a thought

Can you provide any more details of how it was jammed? Was it jammed in battery? Bolt open?

There is a little lip on the top front of the BCG that I believe the charging handle pulls on. It appears to me that this damage was caused by that little lip. Which would suggest to me the bolt was jammed shut and you forced it open, causing this to happen, or the charging handle was of sub-par quality. I mean really, a large amount of force went into this or it was defective.

it was in battery, no idea what brand it is but it feels fairly sub par, after taking it off I was able to bend it airly easily with my bare hands. I did have to use a good amount of force to get it out however, the handle would not come ou, nor would it move back. Most of the paint on it started to wear off as soon as I first pulled it back, makes me think maybe it is cheap.

I ordered a BCM gunfighter mod 3 earlier today as a replacement, but I am still curious as to what happened.

If you can bend it with your bare hands then it's knock off junk. You won't be disappointed with the BCM Gunfighter CH.
