Wondering if anyone has any experience with adding a mag extension to a Charles Daly 601 Tactical (Benelli M2 clone). I recently picked up a new 601 on sale from Tenda. I used to have a used CD 601 that had a Benelli mag extension installed by the previous owner. Great little shotgun, but I sold it for something else. Of course now, I want to recreate it. I understood the mag extension on my previous 601 was a Benelli Super Nova. I've now tried the Benelli M2 and Benelli Nova/Super Nova mag extensions but neither will fit this new shotgun. I wonder if the threading was changed or something on the new 601's. Hopefully, someone can help. Any insight will be appreciated. Pic for reference.
Update: From what I understand, there can be manufacturing differences between these shotguns, from factory to factory and month to month as production demands change. They may alter the threading on certain parts to accommodate the use of other shotgun parts they have readily on hand (to use up surplus parts from other models, etc.). The fine folks at SJ Outdoors (SJ Hardware) in Bellville, ON were a big help to try and find one that worked - we tried a number of different model mag extensions, but no luck. Oh well, on to the next project!
