I bought one of those Charles Daly short .410 guns for a camp bear scare gun or to dispatch a damaging racoon. Paid $180 all in from Cab***so this is a pretty decent price. Have taken it out to check it and it shoots reliably and about as expected for a 14 inch barrel shotgun. Thing I do not like is there is no hammer. Once you load and close it is ready to go unless you have it on safety and I never rely on safeties.
But as I said it will hang locked and out of reach of little fingers to use when I need to scare a bear off the property so should fit for that. They would probably make a good truck/pack/ATV/Snomo/survival gun and for $143 shipped not a bad deal!
Your biggest problem is that you will prob pay more for ammo that you do the gun and that is if you can ever even find .410
