Thinking about picking one up, but of course, they have a legendary repuation for being craptastic.

So my question is, can I pull a part out of the action to turn it into a straight-pull bolt action, instead of a sem-auto? Seems to me that might make it more reliable. . .?

Choice of ammo also makes a huge difference.........hi/hyper-vel solids are highly recommended.....

You could replace the recoil springs will +++ heavy springs. That alone might succeed in converting it to a manual action.
