I've always liked the look of the Explorer pistol manufactored by Charter Arms in the 70's( can't even dream of affording a Mauser Broomhandle, LOL).
But the rifle has a history of jamming (some folks say). Anyone out there have experience with this pistol / rifle? I'm assuming that they are the same basic action.

I had an AR-7 in the 80's. It was a nice rifle that was surprisingly very accurate & was also very reliable. I wish I had kept it.

As far as I know the rifle & the pistol shared the same action .

I still have my AR-7. As "colinjw" wrote, the rifle is a nice little piece. I think the Explorer pistol was made when Charter Arms bought the tooling, and may have functioning problems, but I don't have any experience with one. I've seen lots of complaints about the rifles as made recently. Mine is a 50-year old Armalite (I'm old) and has always been just fine.
