Hi everyone,

I'm really interested in trying 3 gun matches. I haven't done any before. I have a .223 MDI rifle, 9mm 1911, and will be buying a shotgun this week (any suggestions?). Is there anything else I would need? Any memberships or qualifications?
Thanks

I don't have and will not get facebook. This is the only social media account I have, I'm sure all this is answered in the above mentioned facebook group

For a shotgun I would recommend something with removable chokes and the ability to add a longer mag tube. though any shotgun can be used to start out with you will want that longer tube eventually. For pump guns the 870 and supernova work great. Semi guns the stoeger m3500 Browning A5 and Remington versamax are all favorites.
You will want to have a way to carry 30 rounds of rifle and 30 of pistol on you as well as at least 10 shotgun shells
There are many ways to cary all that stuff but I personally recommend a double belt system with mag pouches for rifle and shotgun as well as shell holders for shotshells.
If your not a member you can pay a fee to join the match as a non club member.

Awesome, greatly appreciated.

Generally they limit to 7 1/2 or smaller shot. So bring whatever target loads your gun likes, and have a few slugs along just in case. They dont always use slugs, but it does happen.

Thanks. Getting excited, ended up buying a versa max. Looking for a belt and holster set up.

Quick question, I'm registered for Saturdays match and it's asking me for squadding selection. All five squads are full, so it prevents me from selecting one. Is this a big deal? Not sure what the process is really.

Hi there,

What will the distances be for tommrows match, I see there is a stage in the long range bay. I’m not on Facebook, is there any other way get info on the matches?

Thx

Hey guys,

An email went out to those approved and paid for the Battle of Alberta Charity 2 day match. While most of the discussion around matches is on Facebook, you can see when registration opens on this page: https://historical-arms.com/chas-3-gun-league/ and you can also sign up for emails from us where we'll remind you about match registrations opening up.

If you've got more questions, you can also shoot them over to chas3gunner@gmail.com
