Thanks to all who attended the first CHAS 3GUN match for 2016. I hope you enjoyed it. Please checkout www.chas3gun.com for league details. You can subscribe to our email list on the website. See you all at the next shoot.
Shoot was a lot of fun! Shotgun stages were set up and run very well. Also liked the pistol/carbine stage without paper targets to tape. The one handed shots while holding the barricade windows up were extremely difficult for a noob pistol shooter though! Overall great shoot and big thanks to all of the volunteers and guys/girls who put in the sweat equity putting up and taking down the stages.
This was my first 3-gun match ever and I think I am pretty much hooked now. Sure made me realize a few things I need to work on but I did better than expected for my first match.
Just a quick question, can we run green tip ammo at the matches? I'm going to be buying another case here and am wondering if I need to buy the 223 instead? The 62 gr shoot a lot tighter out of my ar than the 55 gr
The results are in from the April 16, 2016 Match. Thanks to all the RSO's who worked hard all day. Special Thanks to Ryan B, of Nuke-Em-Gunworks, and his sponsors Wolverine Supplies, Wasp Munitions, and Vortex Optics! The results are posted in the picture section at www.chas3gun.com - Resulst have also been emailed out. If you are not on the email list, please register to be on the list at www.chas3gun.com
We are short on range bays right now, due to a CFO approval delay. We ran one pistol, rifle and shotgun stage, and two smaller shotgun stages. We also have a short shotgun/pistol shoot off at the end.
I shot the 9 hole wall poorly. I'd never had to contend with a 9 hole before and thought I had the lower 3 hole shooting position figured out beforehand. WRONG !!! After the match I went online to watch some YouTube video's of different positions. I promise next time I'll be way better, count on it. Thanks again to the RO's for keeping things safe and interesting. These CHAS matches are great practice for the Lone Butte 3 Gun coming up.
Pretty epic to have a single stage where the fast guy is 213s and slow is 575s! Also have to have the right kind of timers - I've found the old yellow one only counts up to 200 seconds.
It had to be the soggiest 3GUN match in the history of CHAS. Still fun, but there was as much thunder and lightening as gun shots. For all the complaining about the kettle bell toss, I though it was a fun addition.
Thanks to all who came out. We were able to squeeze in two stages onto the 100 meter range, and it worked out well. All four stages ran pretty smoothly and the shoot out was a hoot.
