Chasing the lands.
How many of you precision guys do it?
I have 1000 rounds of 6.5-284 down the pipe and if I go any longer on the OAL I have to remove the bolt to get unfired rounds out. The gun still shoots sub MOA but I have had no time to test if lengthening the OAL makes it shoot better.
I put together 50 rounds at the maximum length that can be removed, without removing the bolt.
Might be time to get 2 inches cut off and rechambered.
And no I didn't search for this!!

Given the cost of cutting the barrel and rechambering, I wonder if you wouldn't be farther ahead just ordering a new barrel.

Many F-Class shooters are moving for 6.5-284 to 284 because 6.5-284 is such a barrel burner.
"Burning" a barrel after 750-1000 rounds is the norm.
I planned on getting a 6.5-284 and rebarreling it to 284 once the barrel was shot out.
Finally, I ended up buying a 270 WSM (also a barrel burner) and will rebarrel it to 300 WSM to save my wallet!
