I currently have two stocks for my CZ455 , the traditional style rifle stock (Canadian Edition) which I love the look of and a Boyd’s SS evolution which is cool but lack adjustable features.

Been looking at the MDT LSS-RF and I am tempted.

Does anyone have experience with the MDT and or have recommendations for other system and what I should look for.

Thanks

If there is one thing I'd change would be to switch to a MDT vertical grip, maybe next Black Friday sale. Regardless of my shooting position I always have my thumb resting on the bolt handle side. The only time I wrap my thumb on the left side is when I'm carrying it.

This is the 16" barrel 457 and fits my 36" rifle bag perfectly. If the barrel was 18" or longer I'd would have gotten the MDT folding butt stock set-up.

Main reason I switched it out was I did not like the feel and comfort of the factory MTR stock.

For a bench rifle I found it made a small difference in my groups. Being able to use whatever grip or buttstock I wanted was a nice change over the wood stock.

If you're planning on doing ORPS or CRPS i would recommend anything else. The forend is wwwaayyyy to short to be useful and no matter what buttstock you use, the rifle ends up being very back heavy. The only shooter I've seen successfully use one in CRPS had custom made an arca rail that extended well past the forend. It was also made of steel and that helped balance the rifle.

I use an MPA hybrid chassis and really like it, but for the price I don't think it's worth it. I would suggest the MDT ACC chassis, or Oryx chassis.

I also like my CZ 455 Canadian stock but added a KRG Bravo stock to mine. Fits nicely. Waiting to shoot it as my range closed down but may be an option for you.

Love my savage mk11 fv in a mdt lss chassis. Makes a heavy rifle with the massive scope i have on it but it sure helps knock squirrels out the top of trees

What kind of rails are you guys using? The Area 419 rail seems to be the most expensive and rock solid from what I read but the price of the MDT rail has me really leaning that direction. It is only a 22 RF after all.

I have an Area 419 20 MOA now because it came on a rifle I purchased but I always used the MDT rail and it worked great. The only thing I would suggest is cut open a #8 lead shotgun shell and put 1 piece of lead inside each mounting hole before you tighten the mount down, so the grub screws won’t mark up the top of the receiver.
