Any chance of getting some 12 gauge rifled slugs under $1/rnd?

The cheapest I've been able to find are Winchester Super-X, but they're hard to find in any quantity.

I paid about a dollar a round last week for Super X from Canadian tire, but you're right there wasn't much quantity

I've always wondered why slugs (and buckshot) are five times the price of birdshot loads.

Don't they all have about the same amount of lead and powder inside?

Ive been wondering the same since I my 870. I get it for the rifled slugs, maybe a little more work, but buckshot....supply and demand I guess...

I know nothing about this subject, so this is just speculation: I would think that birdshot can be manufactured cheaply by spraying lead mist into the air and letting it cool as it falls while buckshot, being much larger, would require some more organized process. Slugs, of course, must be cast individually.

Please correct me if I am wrong; I would like to know.
