Just picked up 1100 rds of Chinese 7.62x39 on sale for 199.99. Best price going at the mo' for me living in the maritimes. Reg price is 249.99, which is quite expensive. Most online retailers with "free shipping" don't ship for free to the maritimes.

Check yours locally, see if they have it on sale! Now I just need to wait for when their 54r goes on sale...

The Greenwood crappy tire believes that price gouging is acceptable. and wont price match.

I rather buy my ammo from site sponsors and most of them have free ship to N.S

I'll check digby. They said they price match. $199 is a good price for maritimes

Yep their box of 7.62x39 is on sale right now. When it goes back to 250$ it is cheaper per round to get it through Frontier Firearms and pay the 15$ flat rate shipping.

If you want 54r in the maritimes, Marstar is cheapest, including shipping.

CT around here(south of Ottawa) only sells common ammo like 12g, 30-06, .22LR, etc...not a great place for ammo and prices suck.

Our fuddy CTC sporting goods manager, is of the opinion that nobody needs assault rifle ammo!

Is he hypocritical enough to happily sell you an SKS that requires said "assault rifle ammo"?? Or is he at least a consistent Fudd, and won't sell the gun either?

CT makes me angry. Some locations sell firearms and ammo. Others just ammo, some don't sell either. The ammo section locally is pretty bad, unless you want 22lr, 12g or a few hunting rounds, you are out of luck. SKS's and Mosins @ CT, not here. The pellet guns are behind glass.

Oh well, I give the site sponsors the business.

They're franchises, so the individual franchisee has a lot of say in what they carry. The CT on MacLeod Tr. South in Calgary (relatively high tax neightbourhood *ahem*) has a fairly decent selection of Boomsticks and the boom to go in them. The one out in Marlborough (da hood, yo!) - well, you'd have trouble finding a utility knife or even a pointy stick in that place, let alone guns and ammo.

If you're local CT is good, support them - you're mostly supporting the franchisee (read: local businessman). If they aren't, write a letter to the manager and tell him why you won't buy so much as a roll of duct tape off him and take your business elsewhere. Enough people in the community do that, and he'll get a gun counter and tell the Head Office to go stuff themselves.

Canadian Tire in Belleville Ontario is pretty good, Trenton on the other hand, flat out sucks...they carry hornady, and MFS x39, as well as Czech surplus in individual 10rnd clips. they even actually carry ATI and TAPCO SKS stocks...they usually have SKS's in stock, but at one point they had an 858.

Halifax clayton park is getting into it big time as is Dartmouth crossing, just getting started but the prices so far are better in Freddy, that's where I got the two sks for $150 each, price matched the gun dealers sale price! Halifax will come around and they are getting a good assortment of hunting/sporting firearms and ammo!

The CT in Dartmouth crossing sells gun too? I gotta check that tomorrow.

Sorry if i didnt say it correctly but the ctc in dart crossing i getting firearm i dont think they have them yet but clayton park ctc does have sks svt 40 and a few rifles and shotguns ! Manager says they will be getting a lot more and is now in the process of clearing out a couple aisles just for firearms! Ammo is coming too

Barrie North CT has been back into firearms for a few years now and I have picket up SKS and SVT 40 there as they regularly have them. Their MSF soft point amo for hunting is pretty much the cheapest I have found for both x39 and x54R. Buy a rifle and they give you a coupon for 10-15% off full priced purchase of hunting and fishing stuff. They give u the same coupon if you buy your licenses and tags there. Very pleased to have this so close. Cabella's coming in the spring here.

The Ct in Fredericton is renovating as we speak they have removed out a back wall and put in a counter that has to be 40-60 feet long .... they currently have cases of 7.62x39 for 199 pallets of it on display and have Russian sks on sale for $160.00 there are 50-60 of them at least on a rack in front of the counter cable locked together but you can get close and personal and look them over.
