Cheap AR mags

I spoke to the manager of this company (while placing an order for other AR stuff) at a distributor show in Las Vegas this week. His comapny (from Israel) is working overtime to keep up with demand. They had a "super special" price on at he show for $16.50...wholesale. I give them credit for not really taking advantage of the recent situation. In case anyone is interested they would not do any shipments of mags to Canada no matter how many I wanted. Tens of thousands were sold at the show. Phil.

I got them on tuesday and they were 19.50 if I bought 5, which I did. I was in town so I picked them up in person, no shipping. I'm going out shoosting tomorrow so ill let you know how they work. The one thing I noticed is they are pinned exactly for 5 rounds, not 5.5. They seem well constructed though.
 
I just paid $300 for a D&H Mag... they gave me a free Areo lower with it... i guess ill use it as a doorstop and go shoot my NEA.

Ya my D&H came today, nice mag, enhanced follower. im going to put a magpul ranger plate on it next week when they come in.
nice mags... i tried to get more before he shipped it to me but they are sold out....so i bundled a few LAR mags with a order from somewhere else.

the lower is very nice BTW, but whoever put the LPK in messed up... detentes were in backwards making the pivot pins impossible to move (tapped them with a hammer and a punch) and i may have to find a better mag release, this one doesnt fit right.... it sticks and catches. i did a little filing on the mag catch and its a little better but needs some more TLC... maybe ill get the dremil out tomorrow and see if i can get it fitted better and polish the edges (not the part that grabs tha mag though.).
only complaint with the acual lower is the mag well is snug....is that normal?
 
I just ordered 2000 metal US made AR15 5/30 Mags with anti tilt followers. I should know what the delivery date is in the next couple weeks. They will retail about $23-$25.
 
So a few months ago I paid $15 per mag for D&H when I bought 10. Pmags could be bought for about that as well when you factored in the deals. Then the next thing we know you can't find any and people are trying to sell them fo up to $60 each.

So why hasn't an enterprising company sourced mags from China yet? I could use a few Chinese made MagPal brand Gen 3 mags about now. The cost of mags finally came down to something reasonable just before this insanity. It would be nice to have some cheap but decent options until this blows over and prices come back down to Earth.
 
SFRC still has LAR15 mags, 190 of them as of 01:21pm, at $24.95 each. Can't beat that, and 10 rounds to boot. Better than paying stupid prices for them on the EE..
 
Reliable Gun in Vancouver has LAR's $22.99 and polymer couplers $6.99 in stock. That's only $53 for a set, good for 20 rounds - people are paying more than that for one 5 rounder elsewhere!

The D&H and Pmags are better mags than the LAR. They don't hold 10 rounds but they are easier for fast mag changes and looks wise resemble regular capacity. I have some LAR mags and like them for some purposes but they aren't a replacement. You buy them in addition. Or at least that used to be the case.
