Cheap M96 Sporter

Well folks the day has come. I like my m96 hellqvist so much, I gave it to my best friend and ordered myself an FN98 in 8x57. I have a burning question about this rifle, should I buy some S&B 8x57JS rounds for when this arrives? Thanks for any help I can get.

I can not help you with the S&B ammunition, but perhaps take a look at the PPU website. The CIP names the cartridge 8x57JS (for the .323" bore) and SAAMI calls it 8mm Mauser. PPU loads both, using identical .323" bullets. The 8x57JS is rated 200 fps faster (on average) for the bullet weights. CIP has a higher pressure standard than does SAAMI - both cartridges are correct for your rifle, since your Husqvarna rifle would have undergone either CIP or Swedish proof - I don't think Sweden adopted CIP, but their own standards are virtually identical.
