Cheap partners

I hunted with a guy who wanted me to pay the entire premium for my dogs staying in the hotel room (there had been several vehicle break ins and I wasn't having my dogs get loose or stolen.) I paid but the next day I had my dogs work only near me and kept all the birds we got. Did I mention I admire petty people?

Bu Bu Bu Baby you ain't seen nothing yet.
Guy in group shot a young bull moose. The group all pitched in and gutted and dragged it out. He was generous with(3 each) beer.
Got back to camp and he loaded the moose in his truck and booked home telling us that thanks the beer was you payment for helping him.
And never hunted with him again. Life is like that.
LOL ... I used to be a meat cutter in a previous life. I just do it for friends now and not for money. Usually they will offer a share in the meat for goodwill. This us especially welcome if it's a moose. A couple years ago a fellow from the club I knew for years asked me to cut up a moose for him. No small task but I accepted showing up with all the gear. I did the moose all boneless incl the grinding. He packed the moose up said thanks and left without even helping to clean up. Didn't even offer a knuckle bone in the share let alone a steak or roast.

Note to self ...... :)

Great thread, pick your partners carefully. Haha I’ll just add that a good way to remind others of the importance of bringing what you need, is that once in the bush you might as well use $20 bills to wipe your butt if you forgot TP. 😂😂😂 It’ll be cheaper.

Hahaha I mean….don’t take it the wrong way my laugh but it is funny…not even a knuckle lol

Life is a great teacher…I understand you enjoy being a meat cutter and all but hopefully after that fiasco, you make arrangements before you help out…as far as cleaning and some meat to “wet your beak” for all your hard work.

Cheers 😉

Unfortunately, this sort of attitude (the guy with the moose) is not uncommon. All one can do is learn and go forward accordingly (I would ghost them myself) AND share that experience with as many people as possible. I absolutely will not reward bad behaviour and I don’t cut any slack to those that abuse others good will.
