Cheap partners

I can see why you enjoy being out in the bush with other dudes

I do not hunt,
but if I would be out with my buddies in a hunting camp, I would not come to an open forum and complain , because they use the rubber gloves and the paper towels I paid for.

That's really cheap.

It all comes down to communications.
Tell the people beforehand what you expect from them, and what they can expect from you, who pays for what and when, not just coming up with a bill and expect when to pay.

Yes and then a guy says things like gasoline should be split which I don't see anyone disagreeing with, and you're telling the guy he should be spanked, you don't hunt but you're in a hunting forum complaining about another guy complaining.
So I was just confused lol

It's not a hunting forum,
it's a Gun Forum, which is called Canadian Gun Nutz and not
Canadian Hunting Nutz.

Yes, you are confused and not just a little.

Bottom line is simple
Some people will try to take advantage of you…if you let them. Don’t let them. Mention that if you think you might need something you should bring it. I’m not your mom.

People like that sometimes just need to be made aware that the rest of us are tired of looking after them. They usually get the message.

I hunt with the best guys ever. Everyone helps with everything. Everyone brings goodies, snacks, their own equipment etc. everyone offers their stuff to anyone in need should someone have forgotten something.

Been at camps with lots of high maintenance guys…not anymore.

Bu Bu Bu Baby you ain't seen nothing yet.
Guy in group shot a young bull moose. The group all pitched in and gutted and dragged it out. He was generous with(3 each) beer.
Got back to camp and he loaded the moose in his truck and booked home telling us that thanks the beer was you payment for helping him.
And never hunted with him again. Life is like that.

OP, what you do is your choice, you have to decide if you're willing to potentially end a friendship(s) over your concerns or accept it. I'd be inclined to 'jokingly' ask them if they have some oil to apply because they're so tight they sqeak or something similar. Just bring enough for your own personal use.

I'm surprised you haven't been banned yet, you're literally in a thread under a sub forum, now you aren't going to name it you'll avoid the question but I will ask anyways so guys can see what kind of clown you are:
What is the sub forum called that we are in right now? Go on, answer.
And no more talking about spanking men on here, don't get it confused with your other apps on your phone.

I don't know if I'm just unlucky, but with two exceptions, my hunting partners have been extremely cheap.

I like to plan ahead and make sure I have all the supplies I think we'll need. When I ask the guys I hunt with if they want to split the cost of these supplies, they say no because they don't need them.

Then hunting day comes, and guess what? They're suddenly asking if they can borrow latex gloves, soap, paper towels, and so on.

I know these things aren't expensive, but what I don't understand is why people are unwilling to contribute to the cost but have no problem using everything for free.

Does anyone else experience this, or am I just unlucky with my hunting partners?

And of course they don’t have a tarp because I always bring and extra one.
You can talk to them about it, but from my experience, people who aren't willing to help with basic things like this usually aren't people I want to hunt with anyways to be honest, like guys who want to tag along but will never scout, or want to go shooting but don't offer $$ for ammo for example.
I've just seen it too much, also did international trips where guys put no effort into anything, not worth the headache.
Find guys who show up and put effort in and offer without asking, even if it takes time. I'm lucky to have a coworker and I will drive every time but he lets' me to go his deer camp sometimes and we're friends so the small stuff doesn't matter.

I suppose you don’t realize how absolutely ridiculous you’re making yourself look with this post?

*hint* someone confused about where they’re posting probably shouldn’t be telling other people they’re confused….

went hunting with a guy one time, my trailer, my fuel, my quad, so he slept in my trailer and used the BBQ, he did bring food, and beer but thats all.
He hunted around the camp on foot while I hunted on my own further out with the quad. I got a calf moose, I did all the gutting and dragging it back to the camp and hung it all on my own. He didn't see the moose till it was back at my trailer hanging. He seemed to thing he was going to get half of the moose.

That was the first and last trip with him.

I don't mind solo hunting.
