Well I used to reload and stopped, I recently started again and im nearly out of all my components. I'm just wondering if anyone has any good recommendations on where to get reloading supplies and components for the cheapest/best price.
I've been looking at the same powders I have and the prices on my 1lb bottles range from 29.99-34.99 and now I see them listed at 41.99-58.99 , the prices on my bullets range from 22.99-32.999 and now they are listed at 36.99-52.99. It's crazy how prices change so dramatically over a few years :bangHead: ahah. Anyways any recommendations for good cheap reloading suppliers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Cheap reloading suppliesLaugh2. It could be worse, you could be buying factory ammo. Buy bulk, buy where there is no shipping or some places shipping is free. Plated bullets are cheaper than jacketed, and lead are cheapest of all. Not much you can do about powder. Buy off someone who has current stock (that means right now) We are already seeing stuff jump almost 40% because of the dollar

Yeah the most factory ammo that I buy is for my rimfires or shotguns, I thought about reloading shotshells but I mainly use lead and at around $100 for a case of 250 it doesn't bother me too much. I pretty much reload for everything else but I still occasionally buy factory ammo if there's a good sale going on haha.

The days of reloading cheap unfortunately are long gone
If you reload 28ga and 410 shotgun yes you can still save a few dollars by reloading 12ga and 20ga forget it
Not worth it with the costs of those budget shells they make now and what flats go for
You also didnot stop that long ago or were paying too much at the time since I have 13- 15 year old powder jugs here all in the 16.99 to 19.99 range
Cheers

The excuse of the 40% on the dollar is not the only reason for high prices. I was in the states on the weekend and Scheels sporting goods had a whole selection of your everyday average powders on sale for $21.99 usd. Add tax and 40%= still under $35 cdn all in.

I have a question, hoping someone can answer for me.I'm needing lead bullets or ammo for my 32 H&R Magnum .I think I checked the web sites of the sponsors on here, but probably missed who could have what I'm looking for.

I have had good luck with powder with Cabelas where I can backorder then have it delivered to the local store to save on shipping. It took a few months but I am set for the next 2 years.

I realize all of this stuff has been going up for yeeeaars but I didn't stop too long ago . I just can't bielieve how much more they jack prices on everything when they get the chance too.

CanadaAmmo with free shipping over 200 bucks. And that don't take much!

A lot of their 8lb. IMR powders are $349.99 as opposed to X-Reload's price of $302.76. Their supposedly free shipping isn't free at all. It's just hidden in the price of the powder.I know prices are up considerably, but it still pays to shop around. I just got 8 lbs of IMR 4198 from X-Reload and with tax and shipping it was $45.00 cheaper than Canam with their free shipping plus tax. That's like getting an extra free pound of powder.

Look at alternate powder choices. Sometimes a 8lb keg of something that is your second (third or last) choice can save you considerably.

When I find the thing I want, I buy it. As much of it as I can. Who knew that I needed 3000 LR primers this week? At about 400 rounds per year for large rifle I'm set until I'm bored (or RICH!). That'll take me a long time to shoot.

The next few months will be the last of the old stock at "favorable" prices. Expect a price increase for demand and new product.

Budget Shooter Supply, Canada Ammo, Rusty Wood, x-reload all have something good for a fair price right now.

Give Andy a call at the Bullet Barn, real nice people there. Spent a couple of hours with him yesterday learning about how to reload. www.thebulletbarn.com

I see you are in Hamilton. You are in the land of cheapest components in Ontario. If its in stock. Humminsons, higginsons are in your neighbourhood. Couple others as well. Current prices these days are still jacked compared to a couple years ago. Welcome back to the addiction! Wish it was cheaper.

why lower prices when people will buy. we wont see prices come down until sales stop.

We could stop buying country wide and it won't make a difference IMO since most if not all of our components are coming state side.
I bet we are not 10% of their business and they could not care less if they ship to canada the way they are selling stuff in their own country
Cheers
