I already have two shotguns but I'm wondering if the Mossberg Model 88 is any good? I'm looking for a new shotgun that is super cheap that has interchangable chokes and can shoot up to 3 inch loads a 3.5 would be sweet but not gonna ask to much out of so little money. If you know of any other shotguns under $300 please let me know. When I say super cheap I'm saying person on disablity affordable.

Thanks CK

If you already have 2 shotguns, then why buy another cheap one?

because both shotguns I have and the 3 barrels are all fixed chokes and they shoot only 2 3/4 I'd like to get something that can shoot 3 inch and can shoot both lead and steel with the twist of a wrench. I want a more versitile gun platform to use hunting. Besides you can't have to many guns. As for cheap. I get less then what most people make every 2 weeks a month on DB so CHEAP is my only option.

i too am in the same situation. do what i did. sell them both and buy a norico rem with the hunter barrel. 450. 3 in" capacity and changeing chokes.

mine likes ducks
improved cyl seems to work best with steel shot #4, #2 and BB
pretty reliable
aluminum receiver
I own 2
they're just a tad more expensive than a spare barrel
what else do you want to know?
have you tried using em on geese?

he forgot to mention that I'm also interested (CK is my bro) and I'd like a shotty that's good for the goose, gander and bloody duck :dancingbanana:

I have a Winchester 120 pump action shotgun with a 28 in vent rib barrel with the interchangable winchoke system.

It's over 20 years old now, and is still great for hunting.

You should be able to pick one of these up used for well under that price.

Go to cabelas.ca.. Look up 'Mossberg 535 ATS' and buy one for $280.. Interchangeable chokes, you can buy a deer barrel for it later if you want, and it shoots up to 3.5 inch.

I bought one and I took it out trap shooting the other day and I love it.

I bought an 870 Express on the EE here for just under $300.

It shoots three-inch shells if I want to and has interchangeable chokes.

Oh yeah; it kills geese too.

I'm new to fowling and somehow missed the geese season. Actually I didn't but I don't have a boat and there were no geese in my walking range.
Something I noticed after each hunt is my knife would get rust spots while the shotgun wouldn't even though it got plenty wet. But then again, I don't oil my blades.

This is a re-post, but applicable. This purchase I made came in way under $500

I went with the Mossberg 535 combo. I bought the ATI stock and Red Dot seperate. The gun came with 28" and 22" smooth barrells, both threaded for chokes. The Improved, Full, Modified, and XX Full Turkey chokes were also included. The Shotgun has a nice Mossy Oak finish and can chamber 2 3/4" all the way to 3.5". I found this was THE best deal available for what I wanted, just over a year ago.
