Cheap shotguns with interchangable chokes

This is a re-post, but applicable. This purchase I made came in way under $500

I went with the Mossberg 535 combo. I bought the ATI stock and Red Dot seperate. The gun came with 28" and 22" smooth barrells, both threaded for chokes. The Improved, Full, Modified, and XX Full Turkey chokes were also included. The Shotgun has a nice Mossy Oak finish and can chamber 2 3/4" all the way to 3.5". I found this was THE best deal available for what I wanted, just over a year ago.

That's a very nice looking shotgun. But from my short experience, ducks only notice you when you move. I've been standing still wearing mainly black attire and they didn't care. Once I moved, they fled. Some didn't make it too far but that's another story.
Some stupid ones even swam towards me probably expecting food. Well, there was food alright :stirthepot2:
I'm not the one to judge others but for me, the cheap Mav88 does the job and does it well. At $18 a choke, for $500 I could get the gun and 16 chokes.
That reminds me, spring geese season is not that far...

Ya, well... did I mention that it also has fiber optic sights? Ya, thats what I though! :p ;)

I agree that for ducks, you don't need a camo finish. The finish costs extra, for duck hunting it's not a necessity. This is obviously my turkey hunting gun. Turkeys don't like shiny. :D

The 535 combo is a pretty decent gun for the occasional hunter or recreational shooter. I've used it for skeet and turkey only so far. The slide feels a little cheap, but works great. If you want a seriously tight feeling shotty, then you should be willing to pony up the cash for a higher quality gun.

...a Mav88 will go bang and make geese and ducks turn into supper for a really good price. ;)
