Cheap sources of lead for reloading?

Search local buy/sell websites in your area. I once saw an ad on the Vancouver craigslist for a couple hundred ingots of lead. At the time I was not interested...

Try going around to a few of the local tire shops. They usually have lots of old balancing weights kicking around. I guy I know gets most of his lead that way.

Both sources mentioned above are good, roofing lead is usually pure lead and quite soft, great for black powder/muzzle loaders and can be used for other bullets if hardened with tin or cut with harder mix. Wheel weights are harder but dirty and inconsistent but can be used as is for low vel. bullets. Another good source is scrap metal dealers or foundries. Canada metal will sell you whatever mix you want although it is more expensive.
