Used to be you could walk into Wholesale Sports or the Shooters Edge in Calgary and grab the crate of 1120 surplus 7.62 for under $200.....
Guess those days are coming to an end.
Wholesale Sports has a limited supply of surplus 7.62, no longer in the crate but in cardboard boxes.....1000 rounds for $209
Shooting Edge does not have any surplus stuff at all and don't know if or when they will get some. They do have 7.62 but it's non corrosive/ no steel jacket and almost a dollar a shell.
Still pretty cheap at WSS but I guess a guy got used to the real cheap stuff!

Lots of 7.62x39mm surplus here in our warehouse for $188.99 for 1200 rounds. Shipping to Calgary is usually $24.99-$29.99 for the first 1200 rounds. Based on your numbers of 20.99¢ per round locally it looks like we can get a case to your door for between 17.8¢ and 18.2¢ per round pretax.

There have been so many threads on this topic within the last few months. People have been crying wolf for years now actually over the depleting amounts of surplus ammo.

I don't think we're actually going to see an end to this cheap ammo for some time. I remember reading recently a factory in south america was retooling to produce the stuff. I dont remember the thread title, or i would post it. Try a search for "7.62" in the advance seach function and you'll stumble across it.

Point is - dont worry about the supply drying up. Orders are still being filled :)

I know of lots of dealers in alberta with cases maybe 5 or 10 bucks more then the last shipments they had in but no short supply, I am picking up another case when I get home I love the ####.

It's not depleting, but it getting closer to "current production product."

And it's "surplus" which means someday the "surplus" will come to an end. It's a fact with anything "surplus."
