Hey CGN!

I just starting getting equip for reloading for my 5R. I was loocking for cheap media... found some walnut bag at Princess auto 50lb bag for 29.99!!!

Cut up some used dryer softener sheets and throw those in with the walnut to cut down on the dust.

I also mix in some Nu-Finish polish and varsol to the walnut.

Pet food stores have lizard litter and some other cage stuff for cheap. Don't buy the corn cob from the pet food store its too big. Just buy the walnut.

Walnut usually has a grit size range, I believe 10/20 is common, 20/40 is finer and dustier. When my mix got dusty I winnowed it, pouring from one large container into another(2 foot dropon a windy day). It worked quite well. One of our local landscape suppliers(deco bricks, etc.) has walnut in 50 pound bags, correct grit, about $1 a pound.

I used crushed bulk walnut, originally lost circulation material used in drilling oil /gas wells.junk.dusty and jammed up my Dillon sdb resizing die.stuck a case in so tight it ripped the rim and ruined the shell plate.called Dillon.rep said to use corncob, nary a problem since.
