cheapest .311 bullets in the land?

Hey folks

What and where is the best deal on bullets inthis diameter(for .303 brit). The best prices I can seem to come up with are around 20 bucks for 100 bullets. I think it's cheaper to pull down czech 7.62x39 and reload those components(they do make nice loads, too)...Anyone know of a cheaper option?

Try wholesale sport, they usually have remington bulk bullets 150 Grn. and 180Grn. for the 303.

I use the pull down method. I do it with cheap 7.62x54 as well. The x39 makes a good plinker load that shoots to 3" at 100m.

You should slug the barrel first. Not all Lee-Enfield have a .311" barrel. Most do not.

Calibre is close enough. They shoot very well for me. Considering the variation in BD of most Enfield, it matters little.
Powder - No problem there either. You are placing the charge directly into the larger 303 case from the smaller 7.62 case. This can only lead to lower pressures. Since the case is filled to more that 50%, pressure spikes are not an issue. There is no need to know what powder it is in this case as you are not measuring or comparing.

My loads using this method are great out to 100m and possibly beyond.
