Cheapest 50 cal rifle?

Barrett M99's now appear to be importable. Why not consider one of those? I fired one about 10 years ago. It was fun!

Buying the rifle is the least of your problems. The real pain begins when you have to feed it. $10 - $15 everytime it goes BANG adds up quickly. To put that into perspective the $3000 cost of the rifle only equates to 300 rounds of ammo. No other firearm has that kind of cost ratio to shooting it.

Who shoots a 50BMG at 100yds? Maybe at 1760 yds., it just opens up to 2 1/2":)

Few guys that shot Canstar to sight in at 100yards have been saying it cannot group under 2" at 100yards. this was reviewed year or two ago. It's that bad i hear. im sure you could be able to hit a house @ 1000 yards lol

Cheapest doesn't come in to consideration with .50 BMG rifles.

If you want a decent one that won't break the bank, the Steyr HS50 or Barrett 99 are probably the best options at around $5k.

Don't forget optics and ammunition.

Unless you can put $10k in to everything to get shooting a big .50, don't even think of it. If you want to get in to long range shooting, start with a .308.
