Cheapest Binos Celestron 10x42

I'm a bit Surprised.
I got my Missus some Binos for Xmas an did it on tight budget because she doesn't hunt much, doesn't use mine much and didn't want a set so I thought- beauty, I'll get her a set of knock abouts.

$100 off eBay, I picked up the Celesteon outland X...
I went 10x but could of gone 8x (both available)

I just had a quick squiz outside an well up into the Mountain behind home...

I'm not tooooo sure why I spend $600 on Binoculars.......

Can't wait to test in late evening light etc.


They are Chinese made, everything about them is Chinese-
But the focus dial works fine, the caps twist out firmly.. an the glass is fairly good to look thru per say.

Noticed the Zoom may be better than my 12x....as could proberly see deer easier in these at top of the Hill 😆🤦‍♂️😂

Anyway, Hope she finds a few deers with them in near future and if they get neglected.... No real drama.
 
I have a pair of 10X Nature DX that I like as well, bought a pair of their 8X Nature DX ED earlier this year to try out and see if the ED glass was much but I found the focus dial not as smooth and they changed the texture on it for some reason to a size and shape that made it not really jive with my fingers like the original pair I still have.... the different grip profile on the adjuster and the stiffness made them annoying to fine tune focus so I returned them.

Celestron makes decent cheap glass that's for sure.....

They look to be a bit better, these are noticeably not as Bright on last fading light as my Vortex 12x50... But rightly So.

There's about $500 difference.


But the Zoom is not much lesser at distance (FOV) than the 12x, almost considering returning for 8x for her.

But I proberly won't an just use them , nice and Light..... Good for Bow hunting maybe on a Harness.

I can see My Son using them, and Partner seems to not Hate them.


I was intending to test them this arvo , as I went up the track I seen wild dogs , so raced home an grabbed gun an girl....
So she questioned my new Binos..... I says, Merry X mas 😂😆😎
 
Typically you see the difference when light or other weather conditions are challenging, when you spend a long time behind them glassing and when you drop them.

Friend bought a pair of Celestron 15x70 binos from Can. Tire, I wasn’t very impressed with them was getting a bit of a double image, very fatiguing.
 
Double vision is likely a Settings Adjustment issue...... you an your friends eyes have high chances of being different an needing different settings lol

Sillymike, wth you on about... but.. ? Whats it to ya?.

i purchased another Set just last week, ZERO TECH 8x40 vengeance HD..... for Bush Stalking, instead of my Vortex 12xs. they arrive this coming week.

My eyes dont seem to love the Celestrons-- hence why i purchased a different Set.
Partner and Son Do Not get any eye strain or Dizzyness --- i kind of get a second of Re focus when i drop the Celestrons from my eye-- So not perfect for for me perhaps..
 
I sometimes use a Celestron porroprism 6.5x, 44 ‘ED’ binocular. It is very nice providing excellent colour and contrast. I would not consider them highly robust like a naval binocular but they have been fine so far for me .. and are well regarded in various reviews for their image quality.

The double image you see ‘may’ be related to the collimation having gone out of adjustment which can happen easily with some binoculars. Sometimes this can be adjusted within the objective groups (if they use eccentric rings) and if someone tried to unscrew the objective(s) this might be the cause of the double image … some binoculars use small grub screws (often hidden by the leatherette or rubber covering) to adjust collimation.

You can check collimation quickly by placing your binoculars on a level surface (chair back?) and viewing another level surface ( fence or roof) and look at the image while closing each eye in turn .. assuming you have reasonably normal eyesight .. if one image appears higher than the other … i t is probably a collimation problem.
