Cheapest centre-fire “caliber” ?

What is most inexpensive centre fire caliber to shot? I’m a newbie, looking to get rife/pistol to get started, will be using for target and plinking. Any ideas?

Well you can get a crate of 1120 rnds of 7.62x39 for 199.00 thats prety cheap.
For a handgun 9 mm or 7.62x25.

From the Marstar web site
all Czech military ammunition features copper washed steel jacketed projectiles

Some clubs will not let you shoot this indoors. The Tokarev guns are not my idea of a great first handgun either. Eighth or ninth maybe.

Stick to 9 mm if you want a semi-auto or 38 Special for a revolver.

223? Good luck if you can find any surplus 223!

The best deal is 7,62x39 from CanAm, 199 for 1120 rounds, shipping included.

That's better than anything but 7.62x25 handgun. But only tt-33, which is ugly, shots that.

Who the hell shoots indoors.Bad for the lungs and outside is so nice.
My Hungarian Tok is a great shooter.

The absolute cheapest center-fire rifle/ammo combo would be the SKS and 7.62x39. Buy 2 or three cases while it's available.

id say .223.

7.62x39 is a bit cheaper... however the ammunition you get in .223 will generally be of better quality (and no chance that its corrosive), you have a much better selection - can easily buy hunting rounds such as softpoints, varmint hollowpoints and also AP, FMJ, etc.
sometimes in a pinch you cant go to a gun dealer to buy ammo, you have to stop in at Wally World, or Canadian Tire... good luck finding 7.62x39mm at such a store.
