Cheapest semi-auto?

I picked up a used Lakefield 64b from another Nut, and the only problem with it was a bit of a sloppy trigger. I ordered a new trigger from Savage, dropped it in and was very happy with the results!!

Man...time to jump on the soapbox......10/22's are GARBAGE!
Seriously.....they are the Honda-civic-with-a-big-ass-can-hanging-off-the-back of the firearms world!

Out of the box, they are inaccurate, overpriced, and fugly.

Yes, you can make them accrate and very pretty......but it will cost you a ton of $$ to make it happen. Why not just spend the money up front on a TC or something decent?

I know--I know---"I can personalize it". Good for you! However, the 10/22 is just a cash cow for the aftermarket.

There is a ton of aftermarket parts for them....but that's because they are NECCESSARY.

Holy s**t...you can buy a Hyundai Pony and if you sink enough money into it make it a decent car....but why bother? Why not buy something decent to begin with?

I just cant figure it out.........

10/22 lemmings: Flame away!

i agree, my 10/22s suck

Best way to make a 10-22 shoot well is to fire a brick of ammo thru it without any cleaning. They really smarten up and gophers run away or die.

Bought a Rem 597 yesterday, haven't shot it yet because it's like the ice age here for some reason, but can't wait to go nuts on the gophers with it. It's on sale at Southland Canadian Tire for $140 but today is the last day of the sale. You can get a raincheck if need be. I haven't seen anything cheaper yet as far as price goes. Best of all, Remington makes a 30 shot clip too (having a little trouble finding one at the moment).
I've been using a borrowed 10/22 the last while and had some problems with the 25 shot clip feeding and a few jams, but really it's probably because the owner never cleans it and shoots cheap AE ammo out of it. I found its accuracy to be ok, but not wonderful. I'm looking forward to comparing the new one to it, as soon as I scope it.

I got a Savage 64FS for about $140 from LeBaron a few month ago, it shoots cheap bullets really well and it has good grouping. Been hitting golf balls from 50yrds out no problem. Like I said really cheap bullets(walmart specials) a brick for about $20...

My friend has a Savage and he does really well with it. The more Savages I try the more impressed I am with them for accuracy (not just .22s).
