so ever since i got my savage 12fvss with it's oh so annoying centerfeed blind mag, i've been on the hunt for a single shot follower. i only know of one (SSS), and they don't ship to canada. (if you can get your hands on one, lemme know)
so after some reading on various forums of what others have tried, i came up with this.

yes, it's a playing card and some electrical tape. yes that's how much i hate trying to hand feed the tip of a .223 round into the barrel. so this one was just a function test, and it worked great.
the following is after i cleaned it up a bit, and put it back in the stock. as a side note, after the redo, the hole in the casino card was at the perfect wrong spot, and was causing balistic tipped rounds to jam on the barrel edge. small piece of e-tape solved it.
i know it's not pretty, but it works, and will do till i try my hand at bedding. i'll have it out tommorow to send some rounds down range, see if accuracy has changed any.

That is awesome. I lucked out with my Howa, I was taking it apart to start designing a single shot follower and decided to try the OE follower without the magazine box. Low and behold it sits at the perfect height to feed single rounds up the feed ramp and into the chamber. With the mag box installed rounds would tip down and hit below the feed ramp and stop. Made me very happy to figure that out, nothing beats free mods that work perfectly.

yup, free is the way to go. my savage 110 tac did the same thing. i was able to get a score-hi follower for it (staggerfeed), and it works flawlessly now.

i was unaware Jerry had followers for centerfeed savages. i shall email him, and hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised.

i do have a roll of gorilla tape sitting a few feet from my workbench :p

Good day sir, I live in Toronto and have a single shot follower for a centerfeed savage sitting in my gun cabinet collecting dust. If you want it, I'm sure we can figure something out. I just need to find it first.

It's in my pile of take off, or ordered and never used parts like my talley rings, recoil pads, and bolt bodies. I got a bit of money sitting in that little pile haha
