Cheapest way to do a 10/22 trigger job ?

I have been looking around at various drop in triggers for the Ruger 10/22 because I find that my trigger is very heavy and quite lousy compared to my other guns.

Does anyone know of the cheapest available drop in trigger for the 10/22 that works good ?

Or, Is there anything out there that can be done to lighten it up ?
 
Cheapest are OEM "do it yourself" mods.
Look at the top of this forum for the "10/22 Tips & Tricks" sticky.
There is some tips in there...Also Google will help you out.

cost me around $70 for a match hammer and sear. depends what you classify as cheap....

Ya...if your looking for "drop in trigger groups" $115 - 125 plus ship is the cheapest you will find!

If want drop in trigger group "hardware", then thats a different thing. :confused:

This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks. If I can get a trigger pull in range of 4-5 lbs, then thats a huge upgrade from what I have now.

I have had several 10/22 rifles, but for some reason the Ruger I own currently has a garbage trigger compared to some of my other ones I have owned. I have'nt checked with a scale, but I swear my trigger right now on my current 10/22 is in the 8-9lb range. It feels about as light as my old Cooey single shot shotgun. I almost have to tap it. Its a joke. If this modification does'nt work, I think I will have to get a drop in trigger. I did'nt want to spend over $100 on a trigger job for this 10/22 that I own because I really just don't use it much, but then again if the accuracy was better because of a lighter trigger pull, then I would likely use it more often.
 
The Dlask DAR22 I just bought came with a trigger job on the stock Ruger plastic trigger group. It's as crisp as my Volquartsen trigger group and only an ounce heavier. If you know where to polish and perhaps snip, you don't need to spend a dime on aftermarket parts.
