Blaxsun should use the advice given by fuse........ :dancingbanana:

Lol, thanks - but that's not quite the way I roll...

I'll tell you what, it's Blaxsun's problem and we'll let him address it the best we he knows how to...

And then the fight started... ;) It's cool - I outlined the 4 options that I have open to me, so I'll give it the "24-hour" rule and sleep on it. At the end of the day, it's not a total loss; at 3lbs-3oz, this barrel has some nice heft to it. I imagine it would serve nicely in the role of "heavy blunt object".

get a couple more from Questar and tie them together onto strings, hang them out back of the house and you will have some really expensive wind chimes!!!

Mr Spectacular, I agree with.

VanIsler, why don’t you take a deep breath and stop trying to fight a fight you have nothing to do with. I have been following Questar on this forum and they have given reasons as to why they have been able it export some items others are not able to. Nothing about it seems in the slightest bit shady and either way they are bringing in some good stuff.

Finally, in mild defence of Questar, the exterior scratches have little to do with the performance of the barrel. It would be kind of (not entirely) like complaining a hammer you bought has a scratch on it. Secondly, its not like they just have another barrel lying around, they them selves would have to send it off to be replaced/repaired.

The scratches in the chrome lining and the customer service are fairly deplorable thought.

Bad product gets out, its a fact of life. Blaxsun has an option via warranty and he and others also have the option of not shopping with Questar if he/you feel such service is unacceptable.

This didn't "get out"... they saw the condition it was in prior and sent it out anyway. This wasn't a question of something being overlooked, unfortunately. And the warranty issue would be an option, if I placed any faith in what Questar is telling me. And from how they've handled this so far, I don't... So would you wait until Fall/Winter for a replacement?

You should try to post pictures of the chrome lining faults. I'd like to see them so that I know what to look for.

Myself? I hate waiting for companies to "fix" things, but if they aren't returned, they'll just think that they can get away with it.

I'd probably just hook it up and go shoot the hell out of it.

I'm inclined to believe this sort of damage(rusting) could easily happen in transit, either shipping from the US through to Questar in Canada (it's possible they never broke the seal) or even within Canada going from Questar to Blaxsun (wouldn't take much if a package was in transit and absorbed water while subjected to inclement weather).
It is possible that it slipped out of LMT with minimal protectant finish and internal flaws (are they?) to the chrome lining.

I think everyone needs to consider all of the possibilities before jumping to conclusions....;)

I will avoid Questar forever.

They are operating outside of Ontario law. You are entitled to a refund BY LAW. Dispute the credit card charges.

They should not be able to deal on CGN. They don't even obey the law. What are they, the CFO or something?

Haven't you been reading? According to Blaxsun, Questar already knew the barrel was in poor condition because they inspected and photographed it before it was shipped out. They have by admission, sent out a rusty and defective barrel and proceeded to pass the issue onto the customer to deal with as a warranty issue. This is unacceptable and not excusable under any cirumstances.

Well if a complaint isn't received there will be no investigation. I will be e-mailing the state department, the consulate general and the POTUS today asking for a closer look at their sales. This is unacceptable.

Dude seriously, that is not going to accomplish anything buy making false accusations of illegal activity and as a result possibly ruin things for not only the dealer in question, but the other good importers/dealers. Take a breather and think about it. You have a right to your opinion that the dealer here should be held accountable, but possibly messing up US firearm imports for other dealers and possibly getting people in legal trouble is not the way to go.

The way the dealer is handling this is poor based on what I have read here. I agree in the terms that i terms of good customer relations the dealer should refund or exchange the barrel, and deal with getting the defective barrel replaced through LMT themselves.

Things tend to work themselves out in the end. If the dealer continues to act in this manor, then they will lose business. Simple.

That is the dumbest thing I've heard in quite awhile.....congrats TWK

Are you going to shoot it or is it meant to be a safe queen, ffs, minor scratches shoot the damn thing and to be honest the timeline given for getting it back isn’t that bad look at the sales the US is going through, wait on new stuff from everyone is behind considerably.

Is the resale value going to hurt that much if you shoot thousands of rounds out of it.
