Anyone ever stop to think that maybe he was just trying to keep a conversation going with the Camera? I've done fishing videos before. Its no easy task to try and entertain viewers. I agree, he picked the wrong topic but he isn't a show host...

He went out, spent the night, kept himself from getting attacked by the wolves AND he bagged a bull moose. I'd call that a successful day.

My take on it...

(1) He should have shot as many wolves as he could.
(2) Why clean and quarter the moose there? He should have used his quad to drag it to a better spot...

Cheers
Jay

moose hunting alone takes some guts. you definatly have your work cut out! but the bottom line is he went out when his buddy bailed and shot his moose and got it home.
so the wolves freaked him and he likes to talk... big deal! go shoot a moose yourself and figure out what to do. a deer is about as much as i really want to do by myself.
kudos to him and i'm sure he'll enjoy the steaks off that young bull 'll be awsome!!

Bwhaha yea, and at the end, "three other hunters came along and helped me out, good thing."

Not to mention he was counting on the guys that were camped at the gate to give him a hand lifting it into the truck.

Alone, nope, trying to do it himself was not a good idea. I couldn't understand why he didn't quarter it right away either. 6 bulls, 6 years and he's still trying to get a bull moose out alone WHOLE??????

I'm getting some strange answers on the wolf situation? Shoot them sure, but are we supposed to be scared of wolves? Not.

I go into the bush to check my stand or get my SD card out of my trail cam and I just bring my 410, sometimes nothing and I see wolves and yotes, am I supposed to crap my pants and climb a tree? I don't think so.

In one breath it's a warning shot, then later it's he took a shot at one. I tend to believe the latter, and no wolf died. 2 shots on the moose too, not that it's a cardinal sin. He's got some guts (going it alone) but seems sorta dim, if you ask me.

No where in the regs does it say hunters must be intelligent. lol

I dont see why ya'll are ragging on the guy for being afraid of wolves. Everyone is different, we all have something we are afraid of I'm sure. So the guy is afraid of wolves, big deal.

There is more whining in this thread than there was on that short video. LMAO No offense to anyone of course, just pointing out how I see it...

i dont think i could hunt with him........but thats just my opinion of him..
no matter what..he got what he was out there for ..and kudo,s for him on it

I've never hunted moose alone. It requires a lot of preparation and work for a group, never mind a single person. I congratulate and my hat's off to the guy.
I would hunt with him any time.

I am pretty sure he would have broken the law here in sask if he did shoot a wolf there. I am sure he was hunting in the provincial forest and it is illegal for anyone but the allocated trapper for that area to take any fur bearing animals. even a beaver or muskrat. Being a "hardcore hunter" he probably knew that and even if he shot one said he missed????

when I called him a wuss, it was regarding his constant whining about how it was 2 degrees celcius and we was going to be so cold in his -45 C sleeping bag

whaa whaaa whaa

never did say hunting moose alone was easy, surely it isnt. And I dont care about the size of his moose, none of the four Ive shot has been bigger :)

PS, watch some of his other videos, he's one special dude
