This Ringneck has been "caught" twice it would seem.

Other than the fact that he is dead now... he seemed to be in excellent health. the hook went in just above the nostril and through the opposite nostril, the hook has ver little rust on it, so I would guess it was somewhat recent.

Cool pic.

How healthy was the duck?

"Snagging Ducks"... What "test" line were you using??? Was it on an ultralight rod? That'd be one heck of a fight...

Seriously though, cool pic! And in the same "ball park", my buddy once shot a doe that had been previously shot in the ass end by a broadhead. The fixed blade broadhead was still in her hip when the butcher "found" it... The butcher was PISSED, but it was NOT my buddies fault, he shot the deer with a gun, some other person shot it previous to that with a bow...

Cheers
Jay
P.S. Just imagine IF that duck had a band AND a second green band... That'd be unreal!!!

I shot a goose this year that had mono line wrapped so tightly around its leg, the flesh was starting to grow around it.

Also, shot a bluebill a few years back that had a hook in its wing and line wrapped around it's body.

I snagged a duck with my fly rod in Squamish a few years back. It must have been behind me while I was casting...man that was a fight! Lucky I had a heavy tippet and barb-less hooks so the duck escaped unharmed.
