I snagged a duck with my fly rod in Squamish a few years back. It must have been behind me while I was casting...man that was a fight! Lucky I had a heavy tippet and barb-less hooks so the duck escaped unharmed.
Had the same thing happen quite a few years ago. Accidentally hooked one on the wing as it was passing through the water. With a bit of fluttering it was able to free itself.
