hey all,new member from arizona, looking at probably moving back to canada in the next year or so.
joined to brush up on cdn firearms laws and learn the ins and outs of bringing my rifles with me when i make the move.(i figure i'll sell all my handguns beforehand)
i thought i'd have to part with my AR's as well but it seems there is a pretty good AR community up here so i'll definetly do what it takes to bring these along.
i'll apolagize beforehand if i ask stupid questions along the way!:D

Good to see you coming back. Yes, there's quite an AR following here. In some ways, Canada is a bit more liberal with some of their gun laws. (ie short barreled shotguns, and short barreled AR's); but much stricter with others (mandatory registration, no pistols with barrels <4"). Either way, welcome back.

Welcome aboard. Where are you in Arizona? I find the south part of the state a trifle warm in the summer but I love the area around Payson.

live in n.scottsdale pretty close to carefree/cavecreek area.too damn hot in the summer but can't complain we spent the summer up in kamloops, our hometown.still in the 90's today although supposed to begin cooling down.

only 15 -20 min drive from my house and we are far away enough in the hills for great target shooting and plinking which is tough to beat.

that was the plan but with obama probably getting in and the sad economic shape the u.s. is in we are out of here!

welcome . hhhhmmmm , sound like a investment opportunaty , i like buying when things looks bleak .

Hello and welcome.

As a returning Canadian, I brought several handguns into Canada. I checked with Canada Firearms Centre beforehand and found out that if I left them with a friend in the US (in Massachusetts), I could get licensed, get the paperwork, and then go down and bring them back (with paperwork in hand). I did it without any problem (except for unpacking them all and repacking them at the border. I did that with handguns and long guns. If you do that, one of things to be prepared for, is to have a list of all of them as "goods to be brought in later", when you present your list of goods you are bringing with you when you cross into Canada. CFC can give you details, but if you want to send me a Private Message, I'd be happy to help as much as I can.

homes are definately going to get a fair bit cheaper here in the coming months/year as they were way overpriced although i think the same is happening in b.c. as well.
