Checking to See if a PAL or FAC is valid?

I've heard that you can call the CFC to see if someone who is buying a gun from you if their PAL or FAC is valid, but is there a place online where you can type in the licence number to see if it's valid, and if its a RPal or just NR?

So if you sell a gun on EE and its getting mailed, how do you know the buyer has a PAL? If they didn't, wouldn't you be guilty of selling a firearm to an unlicensed person?

If they have a high trader rating or I have dealt with them before, I have no reason to think they don't have a PAL.
Low ratings I want a PAL# and D.O.B. or Skype or Scan of Pal with understanding I will destroy scan upon seeing it.

You verify it.

Either, by getting the info and phoning the CFC, seeing a pic, email or skype etc.

True, but it legally fulfills you requirements under the firearms act to transfer a firearm.

There is no legal requirement to verify a PAL is valid or has been revoked if you don't have any cause to suspect it would be.
Is it a good idea - hell ya.
Is it cheap butt covering - uh huh.
Is it legally required - nope.

You can bet your uncharged ass that there is a record of every PAL checked, and date and time, even though by act it's illegal to record THAT info.

Truth is your tax dollars will be used to shake your tree until the roots are showing or you lose all your leaves defending your truth.
So much easier to lean on the tools in place rather then some online fakeable vouch for them deal.

You need to do a search you are wrong. Read the firearms act its a list with two items not pick one and your good lol
