This rifle seems to be a lot of work. Do I have this right?

1. Clean off cosmoline using mineral spirits and break cleaner.
2. Apply preservative oil and re-grease the rifle.
3. Take rifle to a gunsmith to get checked for headspacing and other issues.
4. Order new spring and any other parts as needed.

Clean off shipping oil (it's not cosmoline)
Grease where recommended.
Test for function (Tilt test and Hammer Follow test)
If it passes, shoot until your heart's content.

Anything else you do to it (parts, accessories, etc) is entirely up to you.

Keep in mind, these rifles tend to be a little "rough" from the factory. Mine needed about 20 rounds fired through it to get all the moving parts "broken in"

Mine was dripping with grease, but not cosmoline. Cleaned it off, tested trigger, and it shoots great from the word go.
