Cheddite Primers

I'll agree with the above - Cheddites are a bit bigger than a 209. Loading Cheddites in a hull previously loaded with a 209 is fine, as long as you are going to stay with Cheddites from then on. Loading 209s in a hull previously loaded with a Cheddite will result in 209 primers slipping out.

I've had 209 primers fall out in my vest pocket from this situation, and once witnessed a primer falling out between shots in a semi. Neat!

That being said, they go Bang! every bit as well as anything else I've seen.

There might have been a size difference at one time but I think that has changed, The gold primers in the pic. are Chedite. The silvers are Winchesters.

A primer pocket resizer will fix that....

Like Win64, I miked out a bunch of the Cheddite 209's and some W209's only I just measured under the cap. They measured the same. Oddly enough a bunch of F209A primers I had on my bench were about 2 thou smaller on the average. Have shot a couple of hundered of the Cheddites now and they do seem to give just a little more muzzle blast and recoil than the W209's with the same amount of powder, subjective of course. So, I feel the reported the factory information (0.5 grains less powder) is probably right. I'm patterning and testing slightly reduced loads now and expect all with be OK. Fred

They say to drop a 1/2 grain of powder less with the Chedites as compared to the Win. 109's.

Hi all Hummason just got 1000000 Chedites in so lots of stock.
I use and have used for 4 years now these exclusivly as a 209 not one problem with going bang.
