Chedite primers hotter than W209?

Ok so I haven't seen a shell data list yet that included chedite primers so I started searching the forums.

Some say that they are a touch bigger so once you use them you can't go back to another primer. Then later I'm reading that they measure the same size as w209's now.

Some say you can use the W209 recipes and swap in chedites no problem yet others say they are hotter and you need to drop the powder measure by .5 grains when using chedites in a Winchester recipe.

So my question is were they hotter when they were bigger and that's when you needed to reduce the measure or are they still hotter and you should keep doing this?

so apparently the chedites are a bit hotter but probably not as hot as a magnum.

after asking around and comparing load data Ive decided not to use them. Im reloading the old AA hulls in 410 and 28.
I might use them in the 28's because there is a recipe that calls for cci magnums but for the 410 probably going to stick to the federal 209a's.

The HS hulls will handle the chedites no problem. lots of guys at my club are using them in the AA HS hulls in 410 and 28.

I know I started this thread but I think I just finished it. Hopefully this info will prove useful for someone else.

You're over thinking this. 1/2 grain on a 18 grain load for shotgun is a non issue.
Myself and my competitive shooting partners have been using Cheddites for years, in 12, 20, 28 & 410, in a multitude of different hulls. Makes no difference, they work perfect.
The only one who had an issue was a guy with an older Browning, when the bottom firing pin was slightly longer then the top, and he had pierced primers. Only gun I've seen that happen to.
