Just so everybody knows, I've been to jbunny's shop and have threatened him that I'm going to pitch my tent in his yard and spend 2 weeks on vacation in his shop!

He is also in the finishing stages of building an electric car.
I wish that I had this man's imagination and talent!

I made a two-rod cheekrest elevator similar to yours for a target rifle. I found that the rest would collapse unexpectedly. To prevent reoccurences, I nibbled some thin veneer strips to nest between the horizontal surfaces, indexed on the rods. If a firing point is quite sloped or the back sight had to be cranked up higher than zero, I put in more spacers.
