Cheek Rest for a Remington 700

Hi,

I wanted to get a cheek weld for a Remington 700 5R. What would be a good one to get?

Thanks.

Cheek Weld -
Cheek Weld Consistency in sighting begins with proper “cheek weld”, positioning the cheek at the same place along the stock. Besides before and after placement of the “weld”, it also determines the height of the eyes in relation to the sights or scope.
I am assuming you mean "Cheek Rest"........;)

I use an Eagle Industries Adjustable stock cheek rest..........has a padded non-slip surface for your cheek, and a storage pocket with 5 exterior shell loops to hold extra rounds.........

Scope it with proper mounts and shoot it before you spend any money. Skullboy is using a big front lensed scope with high rings.

a small ontario company by the name of tac pro has a solid cheek rest I am interested in for my 5r, you need to drill the stock to mount it however.

Skullboy, how much height would you say the check rest adds? part of the allure of a solid cheek rest where I drill the stock is that I can adjust it to get the perfect height, You said yours was adjustable, would you care to elaborate on how adjustable it is for height?

There is another alternative that you can try to see if you need or even like a raised cheekpiece. It is a Beartooth Comb Raising Kit. It is essentially a neoprene sleeve that fits (stretches) over the butt stock. It comes with a number of different height high density foam inserts that fit betwen the sleeve and the stock giving you different comb heghts. If I recall correctly, the kit is about $30.

Just another idea,

if you need alot of clearance, there's the blackhawk! cheek rest, adds about 1.25'' no drilling

or tacpro (dealer here) has drill through stock adjustable cheek rests

for me? It's the KMW long range solution
