Cheek Rests/Comb Height

lol yeah, and looks like complete s**t. Funny, it's fine for the military to do but as soon as a civi does it, they're a "bubba" :)
Meh, #### what it looks like, it serves a purpose. The real pain with it is you have to remove it every time to clean the rifle, and the tape peels back and collects dirt/grass etc...
I meant to do it temporarily just to see if you liked a cheekrest or not, before you drill your stock and go with the Karsten. I've got a Karsten around somewhere (not installed right now, but was once on a different rifle), I'm sure it'll do what you want. It's apparently of better quality than the knockoff brand out there. Ironically, Karsten's is also a knockoff of rooster33's rest, but I digress.
Personally, on my rifle (a2 stock), I just use the eagle cheekrest with a couple extra pieces of chopped up yoga mat underneath to get the height I wanted. I didn't go with the Karsten because I didn't need a ton of rise.

:) I think there are only so many ways you can make a cheek rest out of a piece of 1/4" plastic so I'm not too worried about the "knock off" factor.

I don't think I'm interested in a strap on riser but I may screw around with tape and foam until I figure something out.

dwp cheek rest

Yeah, I looked at that. They are charging the same as Kartsen, $50. I wonder if they offer industry rates?

How do you find them in terms of comfort? They feel good/natural? Do you feel like you have to lean or do awkward things in order to see down the scope?

They are really comfortable!! that's the point of them so you don't have to do anything strange or uncomfortable to get into the position! Adjust to your fit and tighten it down! Everytime you bring up your gun it naturally put's you right where you need to be!! Well worth the investment!!

Why not buy a Canadian made product that is actually shaped to do what you want and is designed by someone who actually understands ergonomics. http://tacpro.com/product_info.php?cPath=11&products_id=19

This riser is designed to fit M14 stocks. We will have one for sporting stocks in the near future.

The Kydex risers that are on the market and have the round top are approximately .5" wider than the widest point on the stock. This pushes your eye out of alignment with the sighting system. The round top also prevents consistent positioning of the cheek.

The TAC PRO cheek riser solves both of the problems above.

$46... I may just do that. Only problem is that it's for the M14, and the desert warfare one is actually for the 700

when I asked him about left handed version of the cheekriser, he said he would come up with something. 1 week later, the left handed version was listed on his website...

Well I just asked him if he was gonna make it, but obviously I already have one, the one pictured earlier on the m14
so no, I didnt buy it, with USD to CND conversion and shipping the DWP unit cost me around 85$

When I bought it there were just no canadian counter parts. A few months after I got it, M14Doctor started to make his own, now badboybeeson sells his own and tac pro also got his. If my DWP broke, I would go with tac-pro just because it's the only one that doesnt look like a folded cutting board

:D well if it's soon enough, I'll buy one from him.

It occurred to me that I really hate the word "soon". What a dirty, ambiguous, nondescript word.

Yeah, so I found out that Steve doesn't screw around.... when he says soon, he means SOON :D The beast is already installed on my rig.

I got the FIRST TacPro riser off the press and I must say, I am very happy with it. Cheek weld is 100 times better, and the fit and finish is great. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
