Chiappa 1886 Ridge Runner not cylcing

I bought a brand new 1886 a couple of weeks ago, and I've obviously been playing with it and the gun doesn't cycle sometimes when you pull the lever all the way open, it will come to a stop about 2/3 of the way to closed.

You have to cycle it a couple more times before you can get the lever to sit properly

The gun is a takedown, but i don't think that has anything to do with it. Just feels like it's getting hung up on the upstroke.

Any recommendations are appreciated.
 
Try backing out the magazine tube a little bit and see if that helps. I've read having it tightened all the way down can cause feeding issues.
 
Strip the bugger down, de-burr & smooth the action parts in areas that show excess finish wear then thoroughly clean the assembly & light lube with good oil
before reassembly. Chiappa ain't got a good rep when it comes to quality control unfortunately.
 
I’ve lubed it a bit, haven’t stripped it yet. Have done a little reading since this post and it sounds like the mag tube might be a lil tight. Will try all and report back.
