I am planning on picking up one of these 2 guns and am looking for opinions.

Personal opinions are always welcome but I would really like to hear from anyone who has owned - or a least fired - both of them.

Thx.

there are a million posts on this subject, but in most cases its the GSG 1911 that has the better response

X2...GSG is the better choice

Check the ones that sell guns! LOL

Badger, Armco, Blueline for sure.

That's funny! No -really it is! :D

I started with the sponsors I've bought guns from before. I'm only a PAL holder and really haven't been bitten by the handgun bug, even though I've shot many of them at the range. My wife on the other hand just passed her RPAL and I wanted to price these puppies before suggesting she look at them. I'm a thrifty b4st4rd.

I don't mean to be a FUDD - but seriously what good is a handgun other than to fight your way back to your rifle which you should have never put down in the first place! ...just kidding. :stirthepot2:

I guess I should also mention that for a little less money you can get a Ruger Mark III 22/45, and I can guarantee it will be more reliable, more accurate, and last longer than the GSG.

At 10m I was shooting dime size groups with support, and about an inch and a half at 25m. I am very impressed with this gun, and it has eaten everything I have put through it no problems. I also don't find it that difficult to strip and put back together as some do.

Fixed it for you

Fixed it for you

They actually do make holsters, and while I was like you and had a hate for the space gun, I am coming to appreciate it for what it is.

As far as reliability there is really no comparison.

This thing will cycle everything even standard velocity stuff that I could not get to cycle in a GSG, a Mosquito, or my G17 AA kit. The fact that it functions more like a bolt gun than a pistol makes the difference. Hell I think it would cycle shorts if they would feed. LOL

The materials that go into making the light weight slides in the semi auto .22 pistols make me nervous, and I wanted something with some guaranteed longevity, so for $330 I chose the Ruger. Sold the Mosquito some time ago, although it was pretty reliable, and just sold the AA kit as well.
