Chiappa .22 M1 Carbine

semi-auto rimfire rifles are not subject to the same barrel length rules that semi-auto centerfire rifles are

Edit: Gah, misread, my bad

hi, it's stupid question time........sorry to those that already know, but what make these m1 carbines non restricted, and the "OTHERS" restricted? not the .22, i mean the centrefire thanks

Since you are talking about the centrefire ones, I would hazard a guess that they are making a special "Canadian" edition, which would have barrels longer than 18.5 inches, which would qualify them for non-restricted. As for the "others", the USGI and subsequently many (but not all) of the commercial copies had an 18 inch barrel, thus making them restricted.

They look neat. The lack of anything bigger then 10 rounds is a bit of a downer, which is why I love the 10/22 conversion so much, but they are a real looker.

The auto ordinance ones are nice, but quite pricey in comparison.
